Our Martyred Lady

The Order of Our Martyred Lady is one of the major Orders Militant of the Adepta Sororitas founded in honour of Saint Katherine by the Ecclesiarch Alexis XXII, the long-lived successor of the great reformer Sebastian Thor in the 36th Millennium when the location of the Adepta Sororitas’ primary convent was split between Terra and Ophelia VII creating, among others, the Order of Our Martyred Lady.

Adepta Sororitas of the Order of Our Martyred Lady. I got super carried away after testing up new colours for another project and GW did a stellar job reworking and updating the Sisters line with fresh and dynamic new models that are true to the originals, so here we are. I modelled the painting scheme and palette after the artwork, Canoness by Lewis Jones which can be found in the new Adepta Sororitas codex I managed to snatch a limited edition of with the battle box. I wanted to re-do the classic black armour in the spirit of the new codex and art, to have a cold metallic sheen shining through the black see-thru coat.

Without further ado, here’s the results!

Sister Superior, Order of Our Martyred Lady

The effect of cold black armour is hard to photograph, but as I continue expanding this force I hope to learn a little how to take photos of it for you. I already have more battle-sisters and the magnificent Junith Eruita model coming. I’m also converting a Canoness to match the illustration above. Let me know what you think!

  1. I think your representation of the codex art is one of the closest possible. Are you ever gonna post a tutorial for that? Thanks

    1. Thank you! I very much intend so, There are still few things like lenses and flames that I need to figure out as this scheme hones itself and evolves to its final form. BTW, if you would like very detailed and visual guide on Iron Sleet minis you should check out Migsula’s Patreon.

    1. Thanks mate 🙂 I’m looking forward on getting some better photos of these to make justice for the scheme. I’m currently building some Zephyrim which will have black clothes, cant wait to show them too

      1. Cool! I’ve just finished my first Sister. It took me ages to settle on a scheme for them. The whole range is just lovely and I really want to do them well as It’ll be the first army in years that I’ve wanted to collect fully.

  2. Beautiful work Lassi!

I am impressed by your ability to not get bogged down in details and instead work with ambience and impact…very organic and fluid.

The shimmering blacks and deep reds are ace together!

    1. Thank you my friend! Trying to keep things flowing with this project, emphasizing fun and impact over technical side. So far enjoying it 😁 Its just that the new sororitas models are so intricate that building them takes quite some time!
