  3. woah that’s great – loving this extra grimdark injection you are giving your Eldar. For some reason he reminds me of the white Phyrexians from Magic the Gathering – he’d look great in those colours!

  4. I really like where you´re going with these new eldar models! A very interesting blanchean take on them.

    The librarian looks really cool – I love the overall shape of the model and the use of the techpriests body is inspired.

    However, the arms look a bit weedy – especially the right one feels particularly feeble. Have you considered using wraithguard arms instead? Might suit this guy´s stature better.

    1. At first I thought I agreed with Jeff’s comment. I was expecting this mini to take a particular direction, but these latest photos came as a bit of a surprise. My first reaction was that it looked wrong. It’s weirdly unbalanced and slightly jarring, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Rather than being just a very tall dude, to me it gives the impression of a ‘normal’ sized elder who’s riding (or perhaps has been absorbed into) some kind of machine. The fact that it doesn’t look the way you think it should actually makes it feel more alien.

      1. My thoughts exactly! Giving the thing longer arms would make it physically much taller than a regular Eldar, which wouldn’t feel right. You could balance the long torso with some sort of outstretched mechanical arms attached to his arms, equipment that make the organization of the library shelves easier.

        Way to go Migs! This is getting very interesting. Soon you’ll have two, no make it three, armies in your shelves…

      3. Kari, Thanks! I don’t see this guy doing much physical labour. Building something else to do the lifting will be fun. I hope this never grows in to an army.

        PS. I have about 4 or 5 more armies gathering dust back in finland.

If you look carefully, it’s an Eldar body inside a “suit”, I actually carved out the body of the Mechanicus thing, so you can see in to it a little bit, and this “Eldritch living Bag Pipe” has fused into the seer, connected with cables, tendrils and wraith webs… The seer has no mouth, but when he sings, the pipes from his larynx turn the suit and furniture of the Library into living weapons. The floating pods by his side glow with Eldritch energies and amplify and stretch the psychic echo.

      I should probably add this to the text. I thought I’d explain better when he is ready.

  5. This is magic big time!!! that poem really lifts it all up a notch ❤

    I think, when new miniature is introduced it is very vice decision to share its background as the miniature is created (WIP) rather than in the end after it is painted. like we see here, it builds the tension nicely as the process evolves + it gives the finished miniature more room in the end.
    this is something you obviously knew already but I just wrote it here anyway because this thought popped into my head earlier today as I was studying this post=)
